Construction worker hospitalized after vehicle hit by tractor-trailer in Newport
PALMYRA (WGME) -- Maine State Police says a man was hospitalized after a construction vehicle was hit by a tractor-trailer on I-95 in Newport Tuesday.
Police say the crash happened around 2:15 p.m. at mile marker 157 southbound.
Investigators say a 24-year-old man from Enfield, working for Northeast Paving, was placing cones on the highway for a paving project.
A tractor-trailer, driven by a 38-year-old man from Pennsylvania, hit the Northeast Paving construction vehicle, throwing the worker from the truck.
The worker suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
The driver of the tractor-trailer and the driver of the construction vehicle were not injured.
Maine State Police is still investigating the crash.
