New Generation DAF XB crowned ‘TOP Light Truck’ - DAF Trucks N.V.
The New Generation DAF XB has been awarded ‘TOP Light Truck’ in the prestigious TOP Transport 2024 survey carried out by the leading transport magazine Transport a Logistika from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The DAF XB distribution series was lauded for combining the lowest environmental footprint in combination with outstanding efficiency, safety and comfort.
The New Generation DAF XB series, including the XBC model for construction applications, offers a full range of distribution trucks in the 7.5 to 19 tonne class. DAF’s ultimate truck for city and regional distribution features new, highly efficient 4- and 6-cylinder PACCAR PX engines and is available with a range of gearboxes, including the new, ultra-smooth fully automated PowerLine transmission. Additionally, the XB series includes a comprehensive range of battery electric vehicles to support transport companies in their transition to zero emissions.
The DAF XB provides high payloads, an unsurpassed small turning circle – which translates into class-leading manoeuvrability – and the best bodybuilder-friendliness, highest driver comfort and excellent safety, thanks to a full suite of ADAS systems.
This unique combination was recognised by a jury made up of both readers and experts from the transport industry. Michal Štengl, jury chairman and editor-in-chief of Transport a Logistika: ‘Surveys like these are highly valuable because the outcome reflects the appreciation of individual trucks by owners, drivers and experts. The XB is a genuine leader in the light truck category.’
Luděk Šlajer, Managing Director of DAF Trucks Czech Republic, stated: ‘Like each DAF truck, the New Generation XB distribution series is designed to offer maximum efficiency, safety and driver comfort at the lowest environmental impact. This TOP Transport 2024 Light Truck award highlights that the transport industry acknowledges that our vehicles genuinely support the success of our customers.’
