$2.1 million worth of cocaine found hidden in the floor of a flatbed trailer

Officials with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently discovered millions of dollars worth of drugs secreted in a semi trailer loaded with rocks.

The drug seizure occurred on April 12 at the Del Rio International Bridge located in Del Rio, Texas.

CBP officers selected a tractor trailer transporting a shipment of rocks into the United States for a secondary inspection using a canine unit and non-intrusive inspection systems.

CBP says that the officers discovered 63 packages containing a total of 163 pounds of cocaine hidden in the floor of the flatbed trailer.

The estimated street value of the cocaine is $2.1 million.

The cocaine was seized by CBP.

The case was handed over to Homeland Security Investigations for additional investigation.

"Our CBP officers have been doing outstanding work and are committed to preventing these dangerous drugs from entering our country," said Port Director Liliana Flores, Del Rio Port of Entry. "This interception is a fine example of the work they do to protect our communities."
