It happened just after 1 p.m. on Highway 253 near Interstate 22, about three miles north of Winfield, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Christopher R. Camp, 43, of Brilliant was driving a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport when he hit a 2021 Kenworth T440 concrete mixer head-on. The Land Rover then overturned.
He was taken to Northwest Regional Health in Winfield with critical injuries, but died at the hospital. Troopers said he was not wearing a seatbelt.
